GGR Communications - Data Security | Business VoIP | Managed Networks

Data Security | Business VoIP | Managed Networks

The quick answer to this question is yes and no. If you are only looking to reduce your call costs then the simple answer is no. Even if you have several locations all linked via an MPLS network for example, it would be several years of toll free calling between sites before you realised any ROI. If you are looking to work smarter by reducing travelling time for example then the answer is yes.

Let's try a different question, what is Unified Communications and will it save me money?

One of the biggest misconceptions with voice over IP is that call quality is always poor and that VoIP is no good for business use. Unfortunately free or cheap VoIP products that have been available via the internet have cemented this view. When I have a meeting with potential customers thinking of moving to Voice over IP solution, this is always one of their first questions asked. It is a good and important question and these customers' views are correct in some ways. Trying to send it out across a data network has potential problems.
