Experts in network management, GGR Communications provide Michelin Star quality solutions for businesses who want to get the most value from their voice and data network. GGR offers the latest solutions and technologies for Managed Networks, IP Telephony and Data Security.
GGR Communications Ltd was formed in May 1994 specialising in X.25 Packet switching and cabling services predominantly within the MOD, Utilities and Commercial sectors. The company was originally set up by three ex Dynatech employees giving the business the solid foundation of expertise and knowledge that has enabled GGR to grow to where it is today.
In January 1997 GGR created a subsidiary company which solely focused on the MOD, government and military environments. Cornet Switching Systems Ltd was established to market the Cornet Technology Inc. products in the UK and Ireland, with a product portfolio which includes Manual Patching, PC Controlled Patching, and Matrix Switching. Cornet has grown considerably over the years and now contributes equitably to the company turnover.
With X.25 being rapidly replaced by less complex protocols in the late 90’s, GGR decided to shift their focus to current technology and as such developed the capability to migrate existing X.25 services onto an IP platform. These IP based services such as LAN/ WAN & IP telephony became the main focus for the company and in 1999 GGR partnered with Cisco to broaden their skills across multiple technologies. Working with Cisco for over 14 years, GGR are now a Premier Partner and hold certifications in AdvancedUnified Communications (VoIP) and Wireless Networks.
Adrian Clinton-Watkins was appointed from Technical Director to Managing Director in 2008 and in the same year was awarded his first CCIE in Voice. The following year Adrian became one of only 300 people globally to hold the industry acclaimed Double CCIE accreditation in Routing & Switching, and Voice. Adrian’s level of technical certification and over 15 years of networking industry experience demonstrates the levels of technical understanding and capability to which all GGR Communication’s customers receive. All Engineering and customer facing employees at GGR are Cisco accredited in their respective disciplines, ensuring standards and quality in all commissions and deployments. This high standard was further underpinned by the company attaining ISO9001 accreditation in 2002.
In 2009 GGR decided to focus on their brand identity and industry presence by undergoing a corporate rebrand to help differentiate the business within the highly competitive industry. Previously growing exclusively through client recommendations and referrals, GGR recognised growth could be accelerated with a sales function and as such employed a Sales and Marketing team in 2010.
With their growing expert team, solution portfolio and unbeatable knowledge within the industry, GGR now provide solutions for some of the UK’s leading organisations. With ambitious growth plans over the coming years, GGR will carry on developing their service offering in order to provide the most technically advanced and custom-built solutions for businesses within the UK.
